TUN Launches Mobile App “Deal Finder” for College Student Discounts

Submitted by: Scott Goryeb

The University Network (TUN) has announced the release of Deal Finder, a free mobile app that helps college students save locally.

Now available in the App Store and Google Play, TUN’s Deal Finder app helps students find nearby deals every day on the goods and services they regularly spend money on, such as food, entertainment, nightlife, beauty, fitness and even doctor visits.  With over 12,000 participating merchants nationwide, Deal Finder provides local deals and discounts offered around more than 600 college campuses in the U.S.

“We are very excited to release Deal Finder for the fall 2012 semester.  The size of our deal network has grown tremendously, and we are working hard to continue expanding it,” states co-creator of Deal Finder Scott Goryeb. “We are adding more local businesses that offer student discounts every day. We have grown the network based on student feedback, and we will continue to do that.  Students are encouraged to contact us through the app or our website to request that we add specific businesses or more of a certain type of deal,” Goryeb adds.

TUN has been helping students save with its website, TUN.com, and now students can access the same deals and discounts while on the go.  With this app, students will always be in the know of what deals are available to them, whether it is a few dollars off at the local pizza place, 20% off at a retail clothing store, discounted bowling rates, or 25% off haircuts.

TUN’s Deal Finder has all of the functions that you would expect from a hyper local app.  Users can choose from three views, including Map View, List View, and even Augmented Reality View.  Users can search areas near and far, and filter results by business type, time and day.
Students can also share deals through social media, get directions, and call businesses right from the app.

About TUN:

TUN’s core mission is to help college students save money.  TUN is as an advocate for students by encouraging local businesses to offer student deals. TUN also promotes the discounts offered by local businesses that are already committed to helping students. TUN has rapidly grown since its inception in 2010, when it became apparent that college students would need all the help they could get to deal with the rising cost of higher education and increasing student loan debt.
