Martin Zarzar, 2001 Berklee alum and 10-year drummer for former Berklee group Pink Martini, has just won the judges’ votes for Best Story Song and Best Children’s Music Song in the 12th Annual Independent Music Awards. The final round of Vox Pop (“voice of the people”) voting is up to us, though! Already a number one hit on the Turkish charts, a Vox Pop vote from his second home would be well spent. There are only 24 hours left to be heard – add your voice to the tune of his Vox Pop at: www.independentmusicawards.com/ima/martin-zarzar/

Born in Lima, Peru, and raised in South America, Europe, and the USA, Martin Zarzar is an eclectic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who encompasses his travels into his musical style. A worldly taste that includes original Peruvian songwriting, French café music, and imaginatively instrumented storytelling, Martin’s music is both witty and deeply lyrical. Martin now resides in Portland, Oregon, where he is finishing his greatly anticipated second album.
