For the past two decades, the Roxbury International Film Festival has championed underrepresented voices that tell rich stories of people of color from around the world. In those 20 years they have screened more than 1,200 features, documentaries and shorts. This year, the celebration of independent cinema, filmmakers of color and films celebrating people of color takes place June 20 – 30 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Haley House Bakery Cafe, and Hibernian Hall in Roxbury. A free, pre-festival screening event will take place on Wednesday, June 20.

Harry Egan & Sarah Khatami at ZuZu | July 10th

Harry Egan is a 20 year old singer/songwriter and performer from San Francisco, California. He is a junior at Berklee College of Music in Boston studying Contemporary Writing and Production and Songwriting. Harry grew up in a musical background studying 80s pop and Irish folk music, and started to pursue it himself after performing in first musical. He has been singing and writing music since he was fourteen years old, and plans to do it for the rest of his life. In May of 2018, he released an EP entitled “What I Learned”, with six songs that shared the important lessons and stories throughout his life so far. He is very excited to perform for you tonight with his friends, who are also the incredible musicians who played on his EP.

Sarah Khatami is a singer/songwriter based in Pittsburgh, PA and Boston, MA. Her style can be described as R&B/pop with a unique, improvisational flair, influenced by traditional Persian music. Sarah released her debut single “Darkness” in August 2017, and later released her self-titled EP in January 2018. Her music can be found on all digital platforms.
